Somerton Fine Herringbone Glue Down LVT

A light oak parquet look for modern interiors, Somerton Fine Herringbone is made from narrow Anchor glue-down LVT blocks with a natural oak-effect colour. The vinyl is waterproof and only 2.5mm thin.

Look and character

The natural light colour works as a neutral base, while the fine herringbone gives the floor a subtle pattern that shows more clearly as light falls across it. Narrow blocks keep the pattern delicate, so it suits contemporary rooms with clean lines as well as older homes. Try it with pale oak furniture, black accents or soft greens.

Construction and specification

Blocks are 76mm wide and 457.2mm long, a slim, elongated shape that gives a fine herringbone. At 2.5mm thick, the floor adds very little height, which helps where door clearances or the level of the next room matter. The 0.55mm wear layer is the working surface of the floor: the part that meets feet, furniture and the mop. The durability rating covers both domestic and commercial settings. Because it is vinyl through and through, water on the surface won't make it swell like a wood-based board. One pack covers 3.34 m².

Where it works

Herringbone looks particularly good in hallways, where the pattern leads you through the house. Good places for it include hallways, kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms, as well as bedrooms, bathrooms and conservatories. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is glue down only, with the blocks stuck directly to a prepared subfloor. Patterned floors take more cutting at the edges, so add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. Most fitters prepare the floor with a smoothing compound first, because glue-down vinyl follows the surface it is stuck to. It is suitable for underfloor heating.
