Biscuit Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Biscuit Oak Herringbone is a mid-brown parquet-style laminate from the Flair range. The 101mm blocks are laid in a zigzag to give the classic herringbone look, with a 12mm build that feels solid underfoot.

Look and character

The colour is a comfortable medium brown, warmer than a pale oak but a long way from dark. Because the blocks change direction, the grain seems lighter or deeper depending on where you stand, which gives the floor movement and depth. The embossed and textured finish adds a slight grain you can feel, and the bevels outline each block cleanly. It looks at home in period houses and new builds alike, and goes well with sage or cream walls, warm whites, leather and natural linen.

Construction and specification

The 12mm build has real body to it, so the floor feels steady when you walk across it and sounds less hollow once laid over a good underlay. An AC4 wear rating tells you the surface is made for high-traffic domestic areas as well as general commercial use. All four edges carry a small 4V bevel, which outlines each block and adds depth to the floor. Packs cover 1.836 m² each, so round up to the next full pack. At 101mm by 606mm, the blocks are proportioned like traditional parquet.

Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting uses a click system, with the finished floor laid floating over an underlay. Lay it over a suitable flooring underlay, which smooths out small bumps and softens footfall noise. Herringbone takes more cutting at the walls than straight planks, so add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
