Shortbread Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Shortbread Oak Herringbone is a light, buttery beige parquet-style laminate from our Flair range. The 101mm blocks and soft colour give a bright herringbone floor with a gentle warmth.

Look and character

The colour is a light beige oak with a soft, buttery warmth, as the name suggests. It brightens a room while staying warm, and the herringbone adds pattern without heavy contrast. The embossed and textured finish adds grain underfoot, and the bevelled edges outline each block so the zigzag stays clear. It sits happily with cream and warm white walls, pale woods, woven textures and brass or bronze details.

Construction and specification

At 12mm, these blocks sit at the thicker end of laminate, which gives a firmer and quieter feel underfoot than slimmer boards. The AC4 rating means the surface is tested for heavy domestic traffic and general commercial use, so it copes well with hallways and family rooms. Block size is 101mm wide by 606mm long, so the zigzag stays crisp and readable across a room. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each block stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. Packs cover 1.836 m² each, so round up to the next full pack.

Where it works

Suitable rooms include kitchens, living rooms, conservatories, hallways, dining rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. Put a good doormat at the front door to catch grit, which is the main thing that dulls any floor over time. Taking it up the stairs? Finish each tread with stair nosing for a neat, safe edge. Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the blocks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. Choose the right underlay for laminate for your subfloor; it evens out minor bumps and cuts down noise. Order about 10% more than the measured area, because the angled layout means extra cuts along each wall. The floor is suitable for use with underfloor heating, and you can compare more underfloor heating flooring in our range.
