Malted Grey Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Malted Grey Oak Herringbone gives a contemporary edge to classic parquet, with cool grey tones and detailed oak grain. It is part of our Flair laminate range, with 101mm blocks on a 12mm board.

Look and character

The colour is a medium grey with cooler undertones, balanced by a detailed oak-style grain that keeps it from looking cold. In a herringbone layout, the grey changes subtly between blocks as the light hits them from different angles, giving the floor depth. The textured and embossed finish adds grain underfoot, and bevelled edges make every block stand out. It looks sharp with crisp white walls and black fittings, and softer with warm greys, natural wood and plenty of texture.

Construction and specification

At 12mm, these blocks sit at the thicker end of laminate, which gives a firmer and quieter feel underfoot than slimmer boards. Packs cover 1.836 m² each, so round up to the next full pack. Each block is 101mm wide and 606mm long, laid in a zigzag to form the herringbone. With an AC4 rating, the wear layer is rated for the busiest rooms in a home and for general commercial footfall. All four edges carry a small 4V bevel, which outlines each block and adds depth to the floor.

Where it works

You can lay it in kitchens, bedrooms, hallways, conservatories, living rooms and bathrooms. Fit felt pads to chair and table legs to protect the surface. Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the blocks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Herringbone takes more cutting at the walls than straight planks, so add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
