In Double Smoked Oak, a classic 90mm herringbone meets a deep, smoky colour and a natural oiled finish. Each block is engineered, with a 3mm real oak top layer.
The tone is dark and rich, with a smoky depth that brings out the grain rather than hiding it. A UV oiled finish gives a soft, natural sheen and keeps the surface feeling like oiled wood. Classic grade oak adds some knots and colour movement between blocks. Dark herringbone like this works well in dining rooms and snugs, and against white walls it gives the pattern a bold outline.
A 90mm width with a 450mm length gives a balanced zigzag, less busy than small-block parquet and less bold than the wide formats. The 14/3mm figures describe two parts of the same block: 14mm is the full thickness, and 3mm of that is the real oak top layer you see and walk on. Cross-laid layers resist the swelling and shrinking that solid wood is prone to, which helps the joints stay tight. 3mm of real oak gives you the grain and feel of timber, with scope for a careful professional sand later on. Bevels on all four edges (4V) frame each block and help the geometry stand out. A pack covers 1.944 m² of floor.
It is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories, and it can be used on stairs too. In a kitchen, mop up spills promptly, as real oak is not waterproof. In a hallway the zigzag leads you through the house; in a dining room it frames the table. Compare other engineered oak herringbone floors to weigh up sizes and colours. Stairs need a finished edge, so add stair nosing to the order.
Fit it with tongue and groove joints, either floating on a suitable underlay or fully glued down. Our flooring underlay range covers floating installations. Add around 10% to the room size to cover cuts and waste. It can be used over underfloor heating, and you'll find other options in our underfloor heating flooring collection. Scotia beading gives a tidy finish where the floor meets the skirting.

This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
