Natural Smooth Oak 90mm Engineered Herringbone

Natural Smooth Oak is a refined 90mm herringbone with an unbrushed, smooth surface. It is engineered, 14mm thick, with a 3mm real oak top layer and a lacquered finish.

Look and character

The colour is medium natural oak, warm and classic. Unlike brushed oak, the surface is left smooth, so the grain is seen rather than felt. The lacquer seals the oak with a smooth protective coat. Classic grade oak shows some knots and variation. It suits formal rooms and tidy modern interiors where a clean, even surface looks right.

Construction and specification

The build is 14mm in total, made up of a 3mm layer of real oak over cross-laid plywood. Engineering the board this way keeps it flatter and more stable than a solid block of the same size. The 3mm layer is a common, practical depth for engineered oak, and a fitter can usually give it a light sand in the future. The 90 x 450mm block is a classic herringbone size that works in small rooms and open-plan spaces alike. A 4V bevel puts a small chamfer on all four edges, so every block is outlined and the pattern reads crisply. A pack covers 1.944 m² of floor.

Where it works

In a hallway the zigzag leads you through the house; in a dining room it frames the table. It is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories, and it can be used on stairs too. On stairs, finish each tread with stair nosing. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is tongue and groove, and your fitter can choose a floating or glue-down method. If you float it, choose a suitable flooring underlay first.
