Biscuit Oak 12mm Laminate

Biscuit Oak is a natural, mid-toned oak effect in a straight plank from our Flair laminate range. It is the kind of all-rounder floor that suits most rooms and most colour schemes, with a 12mm build and a hard-wearing AC4 surface.

Look and character

This shade sits right in the middle: a natural oak colour that is neither pale nor dark, with gentle grain and soft variation along the boards. That balance makes it easy to decorate around, whether your walls are white, warm grey or a stronger heritage colour. The textured and embossed surface gives the planks a natural feel, and the bevelled edges outline each board so the floor reads like real boards rather than one large sheet. Warm wood furniture, plants and woven textures all sit well on it.

Construction and specification

A 12mm thickness means more substance than an entry-level laminate: the planks feel solid underfoot and bridge small dips in the subfloor better. With planks of 198mm by 1218mm, the floor has a familiar, well-balanced board size. All four edges carry a small 4V bevel, which outlines each plank and adds depth to the floor. Each pack covers 1.929 m² of floor. It carries an AC4 abrasion rating, which covers busy homes and light commercial spaces, so daily footfall, chair legs and kids are well within its range.

Where it works

This floor suits bedrooms, living rooms, conservatories, hallways, dining rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. For kitchens, a quick wipe after spills keeps the joints in good order. For stairs, pair it with laminate stair nosing so the edge of every step is protected. For more colours in a straight board, see our plank laminate range.

Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting uses a click system, with the finished floor laid floating over an underlay. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste. You can lay it over underfloor heating, which is suitable for this floor; browse more flooring for underfloor heating.
