Dark Earl Grey Oak 12mm Laminate

Dark Earl Grey Oak is a rich, dark grey laminate plank from our Flair range. It gives a room a bold but elegant floor, with realistic oak grain on a 198mm wide, 12mm click board.

Look and character

Dark grey tones run through each plank with a visible oak grain, giving the floor depth rather than a flat, painted look. It creates strong contrast with white or light walls and is a natural partner for industrial touches such as black metal, exposed brick and concrete-look surfaces. At the same time it can feel warm and cosy in a bedroom or snug with soft lighting and textured fabrics. The textured and embossed finish adds grain underfoot, and the bevels outline each board.

Construction and specification

The 12mm build has real body to it, so the floor feels steady when you walk across it and sounds less hollow once laid over a good underlay. Each pack covers 1.929 m² of floor. All four edges carry a small 4V bevel, which outlines each plank and adds depth to the floor. Plank size is 198mm wide by 1218mm long, which keeps the layout calm and uncluttered. The AC4 rating means the surface is tested for heavy domestic traffic and general commercial use, so it copes well with hallways and family rooms.

Where it works

It is a good fit for conservatories, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, dining rooms and bathrooms. Put a good doormat at the front door to catch grit, which is the main thing that dulls any floor over time. It can also be used on stairs with suitable stair nosing to finish each step safely. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is click and floating, which means the planks join edge to edge and rest on an underlay instead of being stuck down. Lay it over a suitable flooring underlay, which smooths out small bumps and softens footfall noise. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste.
