Malted Grey Oak 12mm Laminate

Malted Grey Oak in a straight plank is a soft, mid-grey laminate from our Flair range. It gives a fresh, contemporary floor with realistic grain on a 198mm wide, 12mm board.

Look and character

Soft grey tones run along each plank with a realistic oak grain, giving depth and character while keeping a clean, modern look. It is a medium shade, so it neither brightens nor darkens a room dramatically, which makes it an easy match for most schemes. The textured and embossed surface adds a gentle grain, and bevels outline every board. It suits open-plan kitchens with white or grey units, living rooms with navy or teal accents, and bedrooms with soft whites and natural fabrics.

Construction and specification

At 12mm, these planks sit at the thicker end of laminate, which gives a firmer and quieter feel underfoot than slimmer boards. With an AC4 rating, the wear layer is rated for the busiest rooms in a home and for general commercial footfall. Each plank is 198mm wide and 1218mm long, a classic proportion that reads as a traditional boarded floor. Packs cover 1.929 m² each, so round up to the next full pack. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each plank stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism.

Where it works

It is a good fit for kitchens, hallways, dining rooms, living rooms, conservatories, bedrooms and bathrooms. Felt pads under dining chairs help keep the surface looking fresh. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is click and floating, which means the planks join edge to edge and rest on an underlay instead of being stuck down. Lay it over a suitable flooring underlay, which smooths out small bumps and softens footfall noise. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste.
