Rich Tea Oak 12mm Laminate

Rich Tea Oak is a warm, golden-brown laminate plank from our Flair range, named after the classic biscuit. The soft colour and realistic grain give a welcoming, homely floor on a 198mm wide, 12mm board.

Look and character

The planks show soft golden-brown tones in the medium range, with a realistic oak grain that adds depth and character. It is warmer than a natural oak, which makes rooms feel cosy, especially those facing north or with cooler light. The textured and embossed surface adds a grain you can feel, and the bevelled edges give a traditional boarded look. It sits well with cream and ivory walls, terracotta and mustard accents, and warm wood or cane furniture.

Construction and specification

A 12mm thickness means more substance than an entry-level laminate: the planks feel solid underfoot and bridge small dips in the subfloor better. The AC4 rating means the surface is tested for heavy domestic traffic and general commercial use, so it copes well with hallways and family rooms. With planks of 198mm by 1218mm, the floor has a familiar, well-balanced board size. A 4V bevel runs along all four edges of every plank, giving each one a defined outline, as a wooden floor would have. Packs cover 1.929 m² each, so round up to the next full pack.

Where it works

This floor suits living rooms, conservatories, dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, hallways and bathrooms. In hallways, a doormat at the entrance catches grit before it reaches the floor. It can also be used on stairs with suitable stair nosing to finish each step safely. Browse more plank laminate flooring to compare tones side by side.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the planks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste. The floor is suitable for use with underfloor heating, and you can compare more underfloor heating flooring in our range.
