Shortbread Oak 12mm Laminate

Shortbread Oak in a straight plank is a warm, medium brown laminate from our Flair range. The 198mm boards give a cosy, classic oak-effect floor for everyday living.

Look and character

The colour is a mid-brown oak with a warm, baked character, like a biscuit fresh from the oven. The grain runs cleanly along each board, and the textured and embossed surface adds a grain you can feel. The bevelled edges outline each plank for a traditional boarded look. It is a practical, forgiving shade for busy rooms and suits cream, stone and soft green walls, with warm wood and leather furniture.

Construction and specification

With a 12mm core, the floor has a sturdy, grounded feel that suits busy family rooms. One pack covers 1.929 m². It carries an AC4 abrasion rating, which covers busy homes and light commercial spaces, so daily footfall, chair legs and kids are well within its range. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each plank stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. Each plank is 198mm wide and 1218mm long, a classic proportion that reads as a traditional boarded floor.

Where it works

Use it in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, dining rooms, conservatories and bathrooms. For kitchens, a quick wipe after spills keeps the joints in good order. Taking it up the stairs? Finish each tread with stair nosing for a neat, safe edge. For more colours in a straight board, see our plank laminate range.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The planks click together and are laid as a floating floor, so nothing is fixed down to the subfloor. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste. It is suitable for underfloor heating; see our underfloor heating flooring for other options.
