Tornado Grey Oak 12mm Laminate

Tornado Grey Oak is a rustic-toned, mid-grey laminate plank with the subtle knots, markings and streaks of natural timber. The 196mm boards give a modern grey floor with real character.

Look and character

The colour is a medium grey, stormy rather than pale, with rustic detail that varies from board to board. Knots and streaks break up the surface so the floor looks natural and hides everyday marks well. The textured and embossed finish adds a grain you can feel, and the bevels outline each plank. It suits contemporary and industrial homes with white or charcoal walls, black metal, concrete and reclaimed-style wood, and softens nicely with warm textiles.

Construction and specification

The 12mm build has real body to it, so the floor feels steady when you walk across it and sounds less hollow once laid over a good underlay. Each plank is 196mm wide and 1215mm long, a classic proportion that reads as a traditional boarded floor. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each plank stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. An AC4 wear rating tells you the surface is made for high-traffic domestic areas as well as general commercial use. Packs cover 1.43 m² each, so round up to the next full pack.

Where it works

This floor suits kitchens, hallways, conservatories, bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms and bathrooms. Fit felt pads to chair and table legs to protect the surface. Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting uses a click system, with the finished floor laid floating over an underlay. Choose the right underlay for laminate for your subfloor; it evens out minor bumps and cuts down noise. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of the floor area for cuts and waste. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Finish the edges of the room with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap.
