Castile Oak Herringbone Glue Down LVT

Castile Oak Herringbone sets deep brown oak-effect blocks in a traditional zigzag, for a parquet floor with plenty of presence. The blocks are waterproof glue-down vinyl, 95mm wide, and suitable for underfloor heating.

Look and character

Dark herringbone has a classic, library-like feel, and this deep brown colour leans into that. Against pale walls or painted panelling the pattern stands out clearly; with darker schemes it becomes a rich backdrop. The grain print shows through the colour on each block, and the embossed surface gives it a slight texture underfoot. Because the pattern is small and the tone is deep, it looks its best where good natural or artificial light shows the detail.

Construction and specification

The overall thickness is 2.5mm. Glue-down vinyl stays close to the subfloor, so it sits neatly against neighbouring floors and under doors. Because it is vinyl through and through, water on the surface won't make it swell like a wood-based board. A 0.55mm clear wear layer shields the design underneath from everyday traffic. The durability rating covers both domestic and commercial settings. Each block measures 95 x 380mm; the small size creates a tight, traditional pattern. One pack covers 2.6 m².

Where it works

Herringbone looks particularly good in hallways, where the pattern leads you through the house. It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can continue into the kitchen, bathroom and conservatory. Fitting and underfloor heating

Every block is glued to the subfloor, which gives a firm, stable floor that stays put. Before fitting, the subfloor should be smoothed and levelled so no lumps or joints show through. Allow about 10% extra for cuts and waste, as the herringbone needs careful set-out and edge cuts. It can be used with underfloor heating, and you can compare other floors for underfloor heating too.
