Dark Lacquered Oak 190mm Engineered Plank

Dark Lacquered Oak is a deep-toned engineered plank from our Nevada range, with a brushed surface sealed under lacquer. Its 190mm boards in 1900mm lengths make a versatile, grown-up floor for most rooms.

Look and character

The oak is taken to a dark shade while keeping the natural grain visible, so the floor looks rich rather than painted. Brushing lifts the grain for a subtle texture, and the lacquer adds a soft sheen that deepens the colour and makes the surface simple to wipe clean. As a Classic grade oak it shows small knots and natural variation without heavy character. Dark oak like this suits contemporary spaces with white walls as well as traditional rooms with panelling and warm lighting, and it makes pale furniture and rugs stand out.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Lacquer sits on the surface as a protective film, which makes it an easy floor to keep clean day to day. Planks measure 190mm wide by 1900mm long, and each pack covers 2.888 m². That mid-wide format works in most rooms, neither narrow and busy nor oversized. The 4V bevel runs round every edge, adding definition and a slightly more rustic, board-by-board look.

Where it works

It is at home in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, and works in kitchens and conservatories with a little care. Carrying the floor up the staircase is possible; use stair nosing to finish the tread edges neatly.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of your measured area for cutting and waste. Finish the room edges with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap. It is suitable for underfloor heating.
