Smoked Sawn Oak 190mm Engineered Plank

Smoked Sawn Oak pairs a deep smoked colour with a sawn-textured surface for a floor that is both rugged and modern. It comes on 190mm Nevada engineered planks, 1900mm long, brushed and oiled.

Look and character

The sawn texture recalls rough-cut timber, with faint saw lines across the grain that give the boards a raw, workshop feel. Smoking takes the oak to a deep brown with a smoky cast, and the texture picks up the colour unevenly, adding depth. The oiled finish is matt, so nothing looks glossy or new. Classic grade oak keeps knots under control, which balances the rough texture. It suits industrial and contemporary schemes with concrete, steel and exposed brick, as well as rustic rooms that want a darker floor.

Construction and specification

Planks measure 190mm wide by 1900mm long, and each pack covers 2.888 m². That mid-wide format works in most rooms, neither narrow and busy nor oversized. The board is 14mm thick overall, and the top 3mm is real oak. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. Oil nourishes the timber from within and keeps a natural, matt feel; it benefits from a maintenance oil now and then. The 4V bevel runs round every edge, adding definition and a slightly more rustic, board-by-board look.

Where it works

It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. The same boards can continue onto the stairs, with stair nosing to finish each step.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is suitable for underfloor heating. The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor. Finish the room edges with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap. When you work out quantities, add around 10% for offcuts and waste.
