Westbury Glue Down LVT

Westbury gives a room a deep brown foundation, with smoky tonal variation and visible grain, on wide Anchor XL glue-down LVT planks. It is the one to consider for a rich, dark wood look in waterproof vinyl.

Look and character

Dark knots and broad planks give the floor a substantial visual presence, while the smoky variation keeps the brown from looking flat. Lighter walls and warm furnishings balance the depth: tan seating, a timber coffee table and pale wall panelling all work well with it. Judge a dark floor in the least-lit part of the room before you decide, as it will look deeper there. The embossed surface adds texture to the grain.

Construction and specification

A 2.5mm build keeps the finished floor low, so it rarely means trimming doors or raising thresholds. The 0.5mm wear layer is the working surface of the floor: the part that meets feet, furniture and the mop. Its domestic and commercial rating means it is built for more than light use. Each plank is 229mm wide by 1219.2mm long; the extra width means fewer lines across the floor and a more generous look. One pack covers 3.9 m².

Where it works

It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can continue into the kitchen, bathroom and conservatory. Wide planks look most at home in medium and larger rooms, where their scale can be appreciated. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is glue down only, with the planks stuck directly to a prepared subfloor. Before fitting, the subfloor should be smoothed and levelled so no lumps or joints show through. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. It is suitable for underfloor heating.
