Click LVT herringbone: the classic parquet pattern in waterproof, wood-effect vinyl that locks together without glue. Perfect for kitchens, hallways, bathrooms and busy family homes where you want pattern without worrying about water or wear.
Yes. Luxury vinyl tiles and planks are made from vinyl layers, so the boards themselves are not damaged by water. That makes them a good choice for bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. Seal the edges with a suitable sealant in bathrooms and wipe up standing water, so it cannot get beneath the floor.
It takes longer. Herringbone blocks come in left and right versions that lock together in pairs, and the pattern must be set out from a centre line. Once the first rows are straight, the rest goes down steadily. Allow extra time and 10% extra material.
Yes. The boards are waterproof, so they are well suited to bathrooms. Seal the perimeter with a flexible sealant, fit it around the toilet and bath with care, and avoid laying it under fixed units such as baths and kitchen islands, since floating floors need to move freely.
The wear layer is the clear film that protects the printed design. For bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms, 0.3mm is ample. For kitchens, hallways, homes with large dogs or light commercial areas, choose 0.5mm. Our click herringbone range is split roughly equally between the two, so there is plenty of choice either way.
Blocks are 100mm to 135mm wide and 540mm to 610mm long, a little larger than traditional parquet, which gives a confident, modern zigzag and keeps the number of joints manageable.
Boards are 5mm to 6.5mm thick. About half have a 0.5mm wear layer, with the rest at 0.3mm. The 0.5mm floors are the ones to pick for heavy traffic and large dogs; 0.3mm is fine for most rooms. All have a 4V bevelled edge so the pattern reads clearly, and a textured, wood-grain surface.
Because the blocks click together and float, a patient DIYer can lay them. As with any herringbone, set out from a centre line and allow 10% extra for waste. Around half the range is confirmed for underfloor heating. Waterproof boards make this an ideal pattern floor for bathrooms and kitchens. Colours are mostly oak effects, from pale and grey tones through natural and honey oaks to darker shades.
