Classic Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Classic Oak Herringbone is exactly what the name says: a light, natural oak colour in a traditional parquet layout. It comes from our Craft laminate range, with small 95mm blocks and an AC5 surface for busy homes.

Look and character

The tone is a light natural oak, warm without leaning yellow or orange, with gentle grain running along each block. It is the most versatile shade in the Craft herringbone collection, at home in Victorian terraces as well as new-build open-plan spaces. Laid in a zigzag, the grain turns at every joint, adding movement to the room while the colour stays calm. The textured and embossed surface follows the grain pattern and the bevelled edges outline each block. White walls, soft greys, warm woods and natural fabrics all sit easily on it.

Construction and specification

With a 12mm core, the floor has a sturdy, grounded feel that suits busy family rooms. Each block is 95mm wide and 470mm long, laid in a zigzag to form the herringbone. A 4V bevel runs along all four edges of every block, giving each one a defined outline, as a wooden floor would have. Packs cover 1.607 m² each, so round up to the next full pack. The AC5 rating is the top of the usual laminate scale and means the surface is built to cope with heavy foot traffic, so hallways and busy family rooms are well within its range.

Where it works

You can lay it in bedrooms, conservatories, living rooms, kitchens, hallways and bathrooms. Fit felt pads to chair and table legs to protect the surface. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is click and floating, which means the blocks join edge to edge and rest on an underlay instead of being stuck down. Lay it over a suitable flooring underlay, which smooths out small bumps and softens footfall noise. Herringbone takes more cutting at the walls than straight planks, so add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
