Espresso Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Espresso Oak Herringbone is the darkest brown in our Craft herringbone laminate range. Rich espresso tones and a classic zigzag pattern give a statement floor with the feel of traditional dark parquet.

Look and character

The colour is a deep, coffee-brown oak with warm undertones, strong enough to anchor a room and create contrast with light walls and furniture. The small 95mm blocks make the herringbone detailed and busy in the best sense, and the dark shade shows the pattern clearly. The textured and embossed surface and the bevelled edges give each block definition. It looks particularly good with cream or white walls, brass lighting, velvet and leather, and in period homes where a dark parquet would have been the original floor.

Construction and specification

At 12mm, these blocks sit at the thicker end of laminate, which gives a firmer and quieter feel underfoot than slimmer boards. An AC5 rating tells you the wear surface is made for heavy traffic, well beyond everyday domestic use, so busy areas of the home are no problem. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each block stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. Packs cover 1.607 m² each, so round up to the next full pack. The blocks measure 95mm by 470mm, a size that gives a well-defined herringbone without looking busy.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the blocks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Herringbone takes more cutting at the walls than straight planks, so add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
