Providence Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Providence Oak Herringbone is a medium grey parquet-style laminate from our Craft range. It pairs a welcoming mid-grey with the classic zigzag of herringbone for a floor that suits both contemporary and period rooms.

Look and character

The tone is a medium grey with a gentle oak-style grain, giving a calm, balanced look. In the herringbone layout the grey changes subtly from one block to the next, which adds depth without heavy contrast. The textured and embossed surface follows the grain, and the bevelled edges pick out each block. It pairs well with white walls, soft blues and greens, pale woods and polished chrome, and suits hallways and open-plan living spaces where you want pattern in a mid-tone floor.

Construction and specification

A 12mm thickness means more substance than an entry-level laminate: the blocks feel solid underfoot and bridge small dips in the subfloor better. AC5 is the highest wear class you will usually see on laminate, rated for heavy commercial traffic, which gives plenty of headroom in a busy home. Each pack covers 1.607 m² of floor. At 95mm by 470mm, the blocks are proportioned like traditional parquet. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each block stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism.

Where it works

This floor suits hallways, conservatories, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms. Kitchens are fine as long as spills are wiped up quickly rather than left to sit on the joints. Taking it up the stairs? Finish each tread with stair nosing for a neat, safe edge. Browse more herringbone laminate flooring if you want to weigh up lighter and darker options.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the blocks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Order about 10% more than the measured area, because the angled layout means extra cuts along each wall. It is suitable for underfloor heating; see our underfloor heating flooring for other options.
