Regency Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Regency Oak Herringbone is a mid-brown parquet-style laminate from our Craft range. Its warm, traditional colour suits period homes, bringing a classic parquet look with the practicality of laminate.

Look and character

The colour is a medium brown oak with a warm, traditional feel, somewhere between a natural oak and a darker antique shade. Laid in a herringbone, the grain changes direction with every block, so the floor has movement and a sense of depth. The textured and embossed surface adds grain underfoot, and bevels outline each block. It suits Georgian and Victorian homes, and pairs well with heritage paint colours, panelled walls, brass fittings and dark wood furniture.

Construction and specification

Being 12mm thick, each block gives a reassuring, solid step and a calmer sound underfoot compared with thinner laminate. A 4V bevel runs along all four edges of every block, giving each one a defined outline, as a wooden floor would have. An AC5 rating tells you the wear surface is made for heavy traffic, well beyond everyday domestic use, so busy areas of the home are no problem. One pack covers 1.607 m². The blocks measure 95mm by 470mm, a size that gives a well-defined herringbone without looking busy.

Where it works

It is a good fit for kitchens, bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, conservatories, dining rooms and bathrooms. In hallways, a doormat at the entrance catches grit before it reaches the floor. Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting uses a click system, with the finished floor laid floating over an underlay. Lay it over a suitable flooring underlay, which smooths out small bumps and softens footfall noise. Allow around 10% extra for cuts and waste; a herringbone layout creates more offcuts at the edges of the room.
