Coastal Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Coastal Oak Herringbone is a soft, light oak parquet-style laminate from our Craft range. Its colour sits between pale oak and natural oak, so it brightens a room without looking stark or cold.

Look and character

Gentle beige and light brown variation runs through the blocks, giving the floor a fresh, bright feel with just enough warmth. It is a good middle ground if very pale floors feel too white for you but a natural oak feels too heavy. The herringbone pattern adds movement and detail, while the light shade keeps the overall look clean and balanced. It works especially well with neutral and cream walls, white kitchens, soft furnishings, black accents and brushed brass, and it suits Scandinavian-style interiors.

Construction and specification

A 12mm thickness means more substance than an entry-level laminate: the blocks feel solid underfoot and bridge small dips in the subfloor better. All four edges carry a small 4V bevel, which outlines each block and adds depth to the floor. One pack covers 1.607 m². The AC5 rating is the top of the usual laminate scale and means the surface is built to cope with heavy foot traffic, so hallways and busy family rooms are well within its range. At 95mm by 470mm, the blocks are proportioned like traditional parquet.

Where it works

It is a good fit for kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, bedrooms, conservatories and bathrooms. Fit felt pads to chair and table legs to protect the surface. Taking it up the stairs? Fitting and underfloor heating

The blocks click together and are laid as a floating floor, so nothing is fixed down to the subfloor. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Order about 10% more than the measured area, because the angled layout means extra cuts along each wall.
